Travel to Prague

  • by plane

Prague Airport is located at the west edge of the city, accessible by public buses linking to metro terminals Veleslavín (line A) and Zličín (line B), or by airport shuttles to the city center.
More info can be found at the airport website https://www.prg.aero/en/after-arrival.

  • by train

The main railway station (Praha – Hlavní nádraží) is located in the center of the city, accessible directly by metro (line C) and several tram lines.

  • by car (but beware: parking in the center is pretty difficult)

Accommodation

General advice what to look for:

  • If you want easy walking distance, then Prague 1 (Staré město/Old Town, Nové Město/New Town, or Malá strana/Lesser Town) would be the right general areas
  • If you don’t mind a little more walking, then try Prague 2-Nové město/New Town
  • Otherwise look for hotels that are on the subway (e.g. Prague 2-Vinohrady but also many other districts)

In general, the Prague transportation system has a very dense network of trams and subways and is extremely reliable and not hard to navigate.
